The Challenge

As Robert Talbott expanded from their online store to wholesale, retail, and marketplace sales, the complexity and workload of running the business increased rapidly.

Many processes were handled manually—creating inefficiencies and increasing errors. Data lived in different systems that didn’t communicate, which meant reporting was fragmented and leadership didn’t have reliable visibility into performance.

Warehouse operations were entirely manual, with teams picking and packing orders without a structured system. Product master data and purchasing were managed in spreadsheets, leading to inconsistent product information, data integrity issues, and limited traceability across departments.

The brand needed a unified tech stack that would automate key processes, improve data accuracy, and give leadership real-time visibility across every channel.

Transitioning the Technology Stack

Before the project, Shopify, ShipStation, and QuickBooks were the core systems running the business. Each worked well individually, but none were connected.

Tech Yes! Solutions introduced NetSuite as the central platform and built integrations across a new, connected ecosystem:

  • Shopify for direct-to-consumer eCommerce
  • NuOrder for wholesale order management
  • Snapfulfil for warehouse operations
  • TechShip for shipping automation
  • Shopify POS for in-store sales
  • Boomi as the integration platform

NetSuite became the operational hub, enabling data to flow seamlessly between sales channels, warehouse, and finance—eliminating the need for manual reconciliation between systems.

Centralizing Product Data

One of the first priorities was to clean up and centralize product master data. Prior to implementation, product information was managed through spreadsheets with inconsistent formats, duplicated UPCs, and mismatched SKUs across systems.

Tech Yes! standardized product records and moved them into NetSuite, establishing a single source of truth. All systems now reference the same data for item descriptions, pricing, and identifiers.

This eliminated data integrity issues, reduced listing errors, and ensured consistent product information across Shopify, the warehouse, and wholesale channels.

Enabling True Omni-Channel Sales

Before implementation, Shopify was used for both retail and wholesale orders, but handling wholesale accounts required manual steps outside of the system.

NuOrder was implemented for wholesale management while keeping Shopify for direct-to-consumer sales. All orders—regardless of channel—now flow into NetSuite, which routes them to the warehouse for fulfillment and passes shipping data and tracking information back to the source system.

This automation streamlined order handling from entry to fulfillment and through to payment collection, removing manual touchpoints and ensuring consistency across every channel.

Transforming Warehouse and Fulfillment Operations

The warehouse previously relied on ShipStation, which was limited to printing shipping labels and lacked inventory visibility. All picking was manual, and inventory was maintained as a single virtual location—often inaccurate and hard to trust.

Tech Yes! implemented Snapfulfil as a full warehouse management system (WMS) and integrated it with NetSuite to synchronize inventory, orders, receipts, and returns.

This upgrade introduced location-based inventory tracking, guided picking, and barcode scanning—significantly improving accuracy and efficiency.

To streamline shipping, TechShip was added and integrated with Snapfulfil to automatically generate shipping labels from multiple carriers and service levels based on the order profile.

The result was faster order processing, fewer fulfillment errors, and accurate, real-time inventory visibility.

Supporting Retail Expansion

After stabilizing operations, Robert Talbott opened its first flagship store in New York. Shopify POS was implemented for the store and the existing Shopify–NetSuite integration was extended to include in-store sales and returns.

To properly account for store inventory, separate virtual locations were created in NetSuite and Shopify POS. New processes involving NetSuite Transfer Orders was implemented to handle shipping of product from the warehouse to the store without removing the inventory from the books like would happen with standard orders.

These enhancements allowed the store to operate within the same connected system as the eCommerce and wholesale channels, ensuring accurate inventory levels, synchronized customer data, and consistent financial reporting across all points of sale.

Centralizing Accounting and Reporting

With all systems connected through NetSuite, accounting processes became fully automated and data-driven. Orders, payments, receipts, and vendor transactions now flow into the same system, creating a unified financial record.

Leadership gained access to real-time reporting across sales channels, inventory, and financial performance. Instead of relying on static reports or manual data pulls, decision-makers now have reliable, up-to-date insights that support faster and more informed strategic decisions.

The Results

After four months, Robert Talbott transformed from a collection of disconnected tools into a connected, automated omni-channel business.

Tech Yes! Solutions delivered:

  • Centralized, accurate product data across all systems
  • A fully integrated purchasing process with supplier visibility
  • Automated order flow from entry through fulfillment and payment
  • Faster, more accurate warehouse operations

By connecting their existing systems through NetSuite and Boomi, Tech Yes! Solutions gave Robert Talbott the operational foundation and visibility needed to scale efficiently and confidently into the future.
